I’m not a tech-head at all, so should’ve been sceptical, but I knew Clarkson would bring the goods.

I know of him, of course, but had rarely seen him, outside of his short-lived comedy show. This book has him playing the Jeremy Clarkson character to a tee. (I say character, since I doubt that anyone could legitimately be the way that Clarkson is.)

The chapters are short, meaning that I didn’t get bored whilst he spoke about great moments in technological innovation.

Of course, the major selling point is his spiteful way of referring to people, especially after his stay on the USS Eisenhower, in which he brings up the guy who takes care of the landing of jets with ‘And then I met the most incredulously stupid person on the planet’, or something like that.

A fun read. I haven’t touched his other books, but I certainly will if I can find one on the cheap.
